Conductivity meters for forklift batteries: what you need to know.
Why is it important to use PQ24 water for testing the water in forklift batteries?
The PQ24 water tester is one of those essential tools that tells us whether the water we are using to top up batteries is actually demineralized. It is used preventively by placing it at the outlet of the demineralizer and, by pressing the control button, you will get an immediate reading on the suitability of the resin.
What to do when the water test indicates that the resin is exhausted?
If the red LED on the instrument lights up during the check, it means that the resin is exhausted and has lost its exchange capacity.
Having a spare resin pack to hand will allow us to intervene promptly and stop the damage that unpurified water would cause to the battery.
