The high-performance activated carbon prefilter is capable of absorbing up to 99% of chlorine, organic contaminants, pesticides, solvents, and disinfection byproducts using chlorine and other chemicals. This filter also improves the quality of water undergoing demineralization. Activated carbon, however, cannot eliminate bacteria and nitrates or affect water hardness, which is addressed by the ion exchange resin contained in the demineralizer.
The filter lasts approximately three months or approximately 5,000 liters of treated water, after which it must be replaced.
